Little
Britain overshadowed by own tribute
act
The fading popularity of
comedy series Little Britain has been starkly
revealed by its own tribute act proving more
popular than the original inspiration.
Now its third series, Matt
Lucas' and David Walliams' TV sketch show has
proved once more that the time-old saying of
you can have too much of a good thing still
applies. But while Little Britain crumbles,
Stuart Morrison's and Gavin Pomfret's tribute
act Littler Britain is proving a massive
hit.
Storms are being drummed up
throughout the country's clubs, pubs and
corporate events for the duo's impersonation of
many of the show's most popular characters.
They include their own takes on show favourite
Vicky Pollard, dastardly hypnotist Kenny Craig
and the hilarious homophobic homosexual
Daffydd.
But while Lucas and Walliams
are reportedly fans of Littler Britain, they
need be aware their own fall from grace is
being hastened by the rise of young pretenders
Morrison and Pomfret.
As one of the show's
punchlines suggests, there really is one only
gay Daffydd in the village, meaning time could
be up for Lucas and partner.
