LITTLE Britain star Matt Lucas has confessed he's "not bovvered" about the prospect of being beaten to a BAFTA by Catherine Tate this weekend.
In fact, generous Matt says it's a case of "yeah but no but" when it comes to Sunday's awards bash - he actually WANTS to lose his Best Comedy BAFTA to The Catherine Tate Show. And they reckon it's time for Catherine Tate to take her crown as the new queen of British comedy, after the shock of seeing her go home from last year's British ' Comedy Awards and 2005's BAFTAs empty-handed despite several nominations.
Matt said: "I've got a feeling this is going to be Catherine Tate's year, and good luck to her."
The man responsible for injecting comic catchphrases including "I'm a laydeeee" and "Want that one" into everyday lingo, admits he's forever impersonating Catherine's characters. "I'm a huge fan of her show, and my partner Kevin and I walk about the house saying Am I bovvered?' and 'What a f***ing liberty' like her characters Lauren the schoolgirl and Nan. We quote her all the time," he said.
