| Littler Britain - Lou's Teeth |

In our continuing efforts to perfect the Little Britain look we recently had a replica set of teeth made for "Lou". Fangs FX, who made the all of the TV series teeth, is the place we were pointed at by the Little Britain production team. Chris, who runs the place with his dad, Colin, was very helpful. They even contacted and liased with the Little Britain production designer ensuring we had teeth that were as close as possible to the originals. |

The Studio

On entering the studio you are confronted by Martin Short in full baddy guise grinning away baring his Fangs gnashers. Chris then led me into his "surgery" and settled me into a dentists chair.
"Relax" he said, "It's a very simple process"
I stared up at the walls which were covered in a panopoly of stars from TV and Silver Screen, including Jonny Depp, Joanna Lumley, Helena Bonham Carter, and my fave, Vicky Butler Henderson (Ch5 5th Gear).
The finer process was explained to me, but to be honest this was lost on me, however basically it goes like this. Gunge is poured into moulds which are put in your mouth, looks disgusting, and is very cold. Gunge sets and is removed, meanwhile you salivate like a homeless person in the Harrods food hall whilst Chris asks you questions! Not the best day out I have ever had, but it beats the time I was kidnapped by travellers. |

The Torture Begins

There are various sizes of moulds and apparently I have the same size as Brad Pitt, not the first time I have found something in common with the Pitt-meister. OK, yes it is the first time, but hey, gotta start somewhere, laydeeze...
So the alegenon, algenate, aljazeera, whatever it is called, gets poured into the mould and pushed into you mouth and up onto your top set of teeth first. |

The Worst Slice of Pizza Ever

Bits break off and fall into your mouth, it's not that unpleasant it's just like having mummified chewing gum in there.
Chris and his chaps make the experience as pleasant as can be expected, but I wouldn't want to do it every day! Still now they have my teeth moulded should I ever need teeth then they already have the moulds. |

Having the bottom mould taken is even worse than having the the top set done as your saliva glands just pour and you dribble everywhere like some kind of idiot savant, or a fat guy in Krusty Kreme.
Chris says that this is normal, and I just would love to have seen Vicky Butler Henderson drooling all over me! |

My moulds, top and bottom. The whole process couldn't have taken more than 20 minutes from start to finish.
Chris talked me through the whole process explaing what was happening at each stage and all in all he kept me calm, not that I was particualry nervous, but just a new experience is always a bit strange! |

The final product, may not look like it actually makes too much difference, but without the prosthetic teeth it is much harder to get the voice as it changes the mouth shape considerably. The mobility of the top lip changes and helps to give that authentic Lou loquatiousness.
So another little step towards the authenticity that we at Littler Britain strive to acheive. |

Book a Little Britain theme night for your event, venue or guests. We come, bedeck your venue with Union Jacks and Llanddewi Brefi signs. Have Daffydd and Emily greeting your guests, Lou and Andy walking about and Anne and Kenny Craig creating mayhem.
